Farming Gold is a guide to help and advise those who are struggling with gold, or are trying to save up for something, or just need some extra gold in their pockets. You will find all of the most popular and best places in detail here for your viewing pleasure, from which you can find one that suits you, and hopefully you'll be making gold in no time. :) Also, not a quest, but the best gold-obtaining spot in-game is Ballyhoo.

THE GUIDE

Credit to: Charizard13579 has been updated with the newest info, but it is still being updated currently.

The Bandit Camp

This is one of the most famous spots and in some cases, the best. edit by sysmic101: tip!: ranger armour works wonders on the renegades. I beat it in (about) no less than two minutes. The best skills to use in multiple fights is the multi. Regular ones is hawk and precise. Also works with DeathKnight armor, multi beats about all renegades with a weapon that can do at least 47 damage. I use Twinned Edge for this purpose and it comes from zhoom's quest zhoowdown

Location

In Falconreach, click 'Travel' on the noticeboard, then choose 'Robina's Zone'. Once you see Robina Hood, you are in Surewould Forest. Talk to Robina, and accept a bounty hunting list. If you don't, then this quest is useless. From Robina, go one screen right, one up, then right again. You have arrived.

Description

This quest gets most of its money from bounty hunting, which is a special way for lots of money to drop from the boss. No other quest does this. It is not necessary to go back to town if you want to heal; Robina can heal you fully and instantly, or you can just open your quest log and click "Heal & Potions" after each run.<edit by Kichirou> The possible bounty values are 50, 75, 100, 180, 300 and 600. If the chances for all the bounties are equal, that means an average of 217.5 bounty gold per run. Since there is no indication, though, that you can get 600 gold as often as you can get 50, this average may not be accurate. The monsters here have no elemental weaknesses, so just equip the best weapon you have. Due to the varity, it can take anywhere from 47-560 runs to get a doom weapon.

Advantages

  • It always gives at least 50 gold.
  • On occasions it will give Vaz Striker, giving 600 gold worth of bounty.
  • It gives a few junk items, which sell for 500 gold. So potentially, you can get over 1,100 gold from this quest in one run. In this case, you will need only 28 runs. If you can get Vas Striker with a junk item every time, THIS is the fastest form of getting a doom weapon.
  • For low level rogues, it gives plenty of weapons.
  • The quest is easy and not scaled. Low levels can accomplish it, and high levels can zoom through it.
  • Instant full healing from Robina Hood nearby.
  • X-tremely easy if you have a multi of sorts.

Disadvantages

  • Game play can be slow.
  • There are often three opponents to fight.
  • Can be quite long.
  • The layout of the quest is random, so you may often fight unnecessarily.
  • Bandits have no elemental weaknesses, but at higher levels, that doesnt really matter.

Potion Mastery

This is a quest that can consistently get you quite a bit of gold.

Location

This quest can be found in Warlic's Zone, talk to Nythera

Description

This quest will get you lots of gold. All you have to do is click the obejcts in the order that they glow. It's not hard if you have a regular memory, the highest combinations going to about 6 objects. It starts at 3 objects. There are no monsters at all in this quest.

Advantages

  • Takes about 1-2 minutes.
  • Gives you a junk item which sells for 500 gold most of the time.
  • It will occasionally drop a junk item worth 300 gold.
  • No healing required
  • Because of the Book of Lore, you are now able to access this quest through the storyline of Nythera so now you can just stay in a town (Falconreach for example) with a shop and play the quest through the book itself.

Disadvantages

  • If you're not good with memory, this will be a hard one. I suggest you imagine a line connecting those materials in the shelf so you can just memorize the shape of the line rather than individually memorizing it.
  • You get three chances to get something wrong, all though it's sufficient most of the time.

The Body Shop

A new spot that was released in the Necropolis, and a place to get good exp. and gold.

Location

When you go to the Necropolis talk to Artix and select the quest "The body shop" and you will play that quest. Note, that since the monsters are undead bring a decent light weapon.

Description

This quest you will get a lot of gold when fighting one monster. Also you get 3 belts from this quest, which is pretty decent. The monsters you will fight are easy if you have a light weapon. If not DA holder your best is a Superior Shimmer, Superior Luster, or Superior Glint. (have a Doomie? Purify it!) and if a DA holder the Twinned Edge, Twinned Stave, or Twinned Blade.

Advantages

  • If you play this quest a lot of times or you play it and never quit you will have a lot of gold
  • Never less than 50 gold. In about 2 minutes I got 250 gold which, if your unlucky in The Bandit Camp, would give you more then 2 runs through there.
  • Monsters are easy to finish if you have a light weapon
  • Gives a lot of Exp. even though you want gold.

Disadvantage

  • If you don't find all 3 pieces it takes a while to beat the quest
  • If you don't have a light weapon quest might be harder.
  • Slow gameplay
  • Sometimes when fighting you find the 3 pieces of the monster really fast and after must play and quest again. It bothers that you have to play the quest again and again.

Crystal Clear Lake

This is another of the most famous farming spots, claimed by many to be the best place around.

Location

Go to Amityvale, talk to Thursday, click quests, and choose 'Crystal Clear Lake'. You can also go right from Amityvale, take the upper path at the junction, and keep going till you come across an entrance with two lion statues on each side, however, the latter tends to take more time, and is impractical in the long run.

Description

This quest drops six silver weapons, one level 17 and one level 20 for each class. All are non-DA. It also drops the Snugglebear Helm, but this isn't of much use. But although these are not too good for fighting with at a low level, they are very good for selling. Better than either the Well or the Fiery Heart of Mt. Shining Star.

Advantages

  • Only two sell backs: 179 and 230. Plus the 65 gold from the monsters, you will have either 244 or 295. Starting from zero, it will take between 95-115 runs to a Doom Weapon.
  • Only six monsters.
  • Gives the Silver weapons for non-DA holders.
  • Instant full healing nearby in the town Inn, like in The Well.
  • Instant sell-back at weapon shop next to Thursday.

Disadvantages

  • There is a healing pad in the quest, but it requires you to take a longer route with more monsters, which is not good for farming.
  • Slow gameplay.
  • Scaled quest, the monsters will always be moderately difficult.
  • The boss, Lon, is quite hard. He cannot be stunned, for example (although some have claimed that he is indeed possible to immobilize if you have the pyromancer armor, he is not meant to be as far as we know, and so in any event is very difficult to and not worth trying). Also, he is weak to silver, and nothing else. For DA warriors, silver can be used at level 11. For DA Mages, at level 16. And for non-DA holders, at level 17. No lower level weapons of silver exist. Without silver, he can be troublesome.

Notes

  • If you are DA it is recommended that you get Rolith from Oaklore Keep as a guest

He does 48-71 (Depending on your level)damage with a 4-6 hit attack

Yaga Stone Circle

Another good quest from Thursday.

Location

This quest is the next part in the chain of Thursday's quests. So you can still get to it by talking to Thursday, or by going even farther to the right after Crystal Clear Lake.

Description

The weapons here sell for even better than in Crystal Clear Lake, and are very good Nature weapons anyway even if you don't want to sell them. The only issue is how long it takes. The boss, though, can be difficult, especially if you are a higher level.

  • Important note: The level of the boss, Guffer, is your level + the number of Yaga sisters alive. Therefore, if you try to walk past the Yaga sisters without killing them first, you will find that Guffer is 5 levels too strong and very difficult to kill. At the same time, killing all five witches will make the quest longer. Instead, you need to experiment with this quest for some time, and try to find out how many Yaga sisters you can avoid killing, and then still kill Guffer. If you can do without killing two or three, this may well be the fastest farming quest of all for you. Also note: because he is scaled, higher levels will actually find the boss more difficult than lower levels.
  • This quest is easier if done with the necromancer armor using the dominate skill. There is a chance of Guffer attacking himself (ton of damage!) or him attacking you (150% of his normal attacks....) I need someone else to check this one, due to me having to kill 4 of the yagas to beat gruffer.
  • Using dragon lord armour is recommended. With weapon with average DPT, use Light, Ice or Fire Dragon Spirit to activate Dragon Heart which does huge damage. Having Rolith is also a big help.

Advantages

  • Two sell backs: 200 and 225. This one takes 132 runs on average (Note: Both calculations, this one and the one above, are not accurate as they do not include gold dropped by monsters. Less runs are needed in both cases, but the amount is scaled).
  • For DA holders, this drops the best non-rare nature weapons in the game. These have the same average damage as the weapons merged by Yulgar, but which ones are better is largely a matter of opinion. However, since there are only six drops in the quest, it won't take long to find the one you need here. Merging Yulgar's weapons will take much longer.
  • For non-DA holders, it's slightly different. Some decent fire weapons drop here.

  • Healing within the quest, in the form of a glowing pumpkin.
  • Instant full healing in town, like the previous quest and Crystal Clear Lake.

Disadvantages

  • Lots of annoying talking.
  • Quite a difficult boss, but poses bigger problems for higher levels.
  • Like a healing pad, the pumpkin heals gradually, which can take time.

The Deep Freeze needs checking

This quest gives good gold both by dropping from monsters and from selling weapons. Special thanks to Mr. Irish!

Location

To get to this quest, go to Warlic's portal in Falconreach, and choose 'Frozen Cave'. No more than that.

Description

This quest is not scaled. The monsters are a weak leveled here: 17 and 19. Obviously, the monsters here are all ice, and that makes them weak to fire. This is the only quest other than the Bandit Camp and The VurrMen Ruins that has a random layout, so time taken varies. The weapons here sell well, and at the same time the monsters drop good gold, making an excellent combo.

Advantages

  • Gives very high amounts of gold. You can expect an average of around 103.5 gold per run dropped from monsters. The average sell backs of weapons is 140 gold. This makes a grand total of 240 gold per run on average, so you would need to complete 117 runs on average to get 28000 gold for a doom weapon, starting from 0.
  • Gives a decent amount of experience as well. The average exp is 1,612 per run, which is not bad.
  • Has many good drops. Notice that this list is different from previous ones: this quest is DA only, so no weapons are included that are good for non-DA's but not for DA's. For similar reasons, DA requirement is not shown.

  • Quite smooth gameplay.

Disadvantages

  • Non-scaled at a high level - 17 and 19.
  • Random layout, making it unpredictable. Sometimes this can mean it being nice and short, other times it means not so nice and long. Number of monsters varies between 8 and 24. There is nearly always a fork, and sometimes even two. Since people often choose the wrong side, I suggest always checking both sides before advancing.
  • Needs a Dragon Amulet to enter.

(Note: A special thanks goes to Mr. Irish for much of the information in this section!)

Wars / Special Events

Wars are temporary quests that come and go, so few pieces of information are fixed about them.

Location

Whenever a war is on, there will be a button in whichever town it occurs in (most of the time Falconreach) which takes you to the event. You can find the button on the noticeboard in town.

Description

This is a war found in your vacation from questing. Although the gold isn't great, it is OK, so you may want to try this out eventually if you're searching for the best places that suit you. They are good places to level up, however, so at least if you find the gold rewards disappointing then the EXP should make up for it.

Advantages

  • Wars are nearly always the best places to level up.
  • They give Defender's Medals. These give the best necklaces and rings in the game, amongst other things.
  • Sometimes, wars give war rares, weapons which occasionally drop from waves. Once the war ends, these weapons will become unobtainable. Of course, the last time it was Friday 13th, there were some weapons that were assumed 'rare' even though they did indeed come back.
  • You barely have to run anywhere at all.
  • Only sometimes is there a boss, and it is not too difficult.
  • Usually has smooth game play.
  • Instant full healing. Just go back to the notice where information about the war is shown, and you will find your HP and MP refilled.
  • Right now (Aug 2012), Wargoth War has just started, the catapult mission gives 1 Defender's Medal per completion and this mission can be completed by simply clicking( with good aim and clicking to skip BOOM scenes). So through this you can gather at least 60 Defender's Medal in an hour if your fast enough. Hurry up! It won't last long, we are at 88% now.

Disadvantages

  • The gold is relatively small. High levels may get about 50 gold per wave, but lower levels get less, because the gold is scaled.
  • All wars disappear after a while.
  • Wars are scaled, so they are never too easy. However, the elemental weaknesses of the monsters you fight usually makes up for that.

The VurrMen Ruins needs checking

This quest gives good gold due to to the fact it is very quick to finish!

Location

To get to this quest, go to the gryphon (Travel Button ) in Falconreach, and choose Oaklore. Then go left one screen. Talk to the knights on the catapult and choose "Explore Ruins."

Description

This quest is scaled. The monsters are neutral to all elements, so bring youre best weapon. This is the only quest other than the Bandit Camp orThe Deep Freeze that has a random layout, so time taken varies. the monsters drop good gold and EXP, but sellbacks are only 8-25 gold.

Advantages

  • Gives high amounts of gold.
  • Gives a huge amount of experience as well.
  • Very quick and easy to finish.
  • Quite smooth gameplay.
  • Monsters have relativly low HP.
  • Right next to a insta-heal
  • only takes 1-2 minutes 2 1/2 at the most for

people that can 1 hit kill them.

Disadvantages

  • Random layout, making it unpredictable. Sometimes this can mean it being nice and short, other times it means not so nice and longer. There is sometimes a fork. Since people often choose the wrong side, I suggest always checking both sides before advancing.
  • Most monsters have high damage, so I would only recommend it only if you know Final.

TITAN FARMING

Something Fishy

A nice, short Titan farming quest with good rewards. Thanks to those who have suggested I add it! (Description edited by Cherry7up.)

Location

Click "Travel" on the Falconreach noticeboard, go to Osprey Cove, talk to Rhubarb and click on "Quests". It is the last quest in the chain, so you have to have completed all of the quests prior to it to be able to play it.

Description

You will need your Titan dragon to be able to do this quest. King Braken is a fairly easy foe with only around 2000 HP more than you, so if you use your skills wisely then you should have no problem. You should be able to complete this quest in around 1½ minutes or less if you have Primal Dragons, 2½ if not. You get 442 gold per run, making an average of around 13,260 gold per hour, not including drops. Including the drops and the time it takes to sell them, you're looking at something around 14,208 gold per hour, better than the likes of Crystal Clear Lake. The rewards are good anyway, even if you don't want to sell them (the best water weapons in the game). Keep in mind that if you have an X-boost or a Primal Dragons the hourly rate will go up.

Advantages

  • King Braken, the only enemy, is easy if you use your skills appropriately.
  • The quest drops the best water weapons in game, which all sell for 150.
  • It isn't scaled.
  • The quest is quick to complete.
  • The EXP rewards are very good (3302 EXP per run).
  • Game play is usually smooth.

Disadvantages

  • The cut-scene and dialogue at the beginning wastes a little time.
  • You have to re-summon your Titan dragon every time you do the quest.
  • If you don't have many skills trained, then Braken could be more difficult than necessary.
  • Requires a Dragon Amulet.

The End?

A OK quest for farming with respectable rewards for those who want to keep them. I only suggest farming this quest if you have the primal skill trainer on your DragonRider armor.

Location

Click travel on the Falconreach noticeboard, and click Warlic's Zone. Talk to Warlic and click other quests, Save Lymcrest. It is the last quest in the chain, so you must have completed all quests prior to it.

Description

You will need your Titan dragon to be able to do this quest. Lava Titan Xan is a intermediate rated foe with only around 7000 HP more than you, so if you have assess to the Primal skill, he should be no problem. You should be able to complete this quest in around 3½ minutes or less, and you get 215 gold per run, making an average of around 4300 gold per hour. As an added bonus, the rewards are good (the best fire weapons in the game for level 30s).

Advantages

  • Lava Titan Xan is easy if you can use the Primal skill.
  • The quest drops the best fire weapons in game for level 30s.
  • It isn't scaled.
  • Good EXP from the quest, This one is also a multitasker. (1752 EXP per run).
  • Game play is pretty smooth.

Disadvantages

  • The cut-scene and dialogue at the beginning wastes a little time.
  • You have to re-summon your Titan dragon every time you do the quest.
  • If you don't have many skills trained, then Xan could be difficult of even invincible.
  • Requires a Dragon Amulet.
  • The drops sell for.... exactly 0 gold.
  • The bassualts may be a pain. For me they are, (* Note...I'm level 48 and bassualts take one hit KO on water element)they take 3 hits to kill.

Strategy

If you have Primal skill, this quest is very easy for you. Just attack and breath the bassualts, then on Xan just do these steps. 1)Primal, 2)Scale, 3)Burn, 4)Megaburn, 5)Pierce, 6)Bite/Coil/Regen, 7)Breath, 8)Primal, 9)Scale, 10)Burn, and 11)Megaburn. Xan should now be dead, but if not use Breath instead of Pierce as the next ability.
Remember that for quests that are quite far off from the town you can use the teleport home feature to sell the items in your inventory. Also, if you are having troubles with lag in certain areas, try downloading the latest version of Adobe Flash, if you haven't already.
